Our Newest Recorder Is So Tiny You Might Never See One

New Product

The newest creation in the Edic Tiny line of audio recorders is this A77 model.  This device is about half the size of the now-discontinued B21 model which had the title of "World's Smallest Recorder" in it's time.  In order to introduce the newest model, let's take a look at some of the upgraded features.

Battery

Other than being smaller in size, the new battery is now rechargeable.  The only downside of this upgrade is that you cannot instantly replace the battery with a new one, so instead you will have to wait for the typical recharge time of approximately 3 hours to fully charge it.  On the positive side, you don't have to keep buying new batteries.  Since this rechargeable battery has increased the recording time to approximately 50 hours - when using the proper settings - it is definitely a major improvement over the previous model.

Security

The A77 recorder has introduced some handy new security features.  There is an optional password function to allow access to the recordings.  In addition to that, each recording made on the A77 is also digitally stamped with the date and time.  If any recording is tampered with or edited, the digital stamp will indicate it.  This gives your original unaltered recordings a higher level of authenticity than a regular digital recorder.

Functions

All the different record functions can be customized, similar to all the previous Edic Tiny models.  Record quality is adjustable to give you more recording time or more sound quality as needed.  Voice Activation is available and can be configured for different levels.  There is also a timer recording feature that allows you to set up a daily or a one time only recording session.  See the product page for the Edic Tiny A77 on our online shop for a full list of specifications.

The era of the "Smartphone" has gradually assimilated most people in our society into the habit of having a multifunctional communications device on their person at all times.  We are now so addicted to these devices that we willingly sacrifice a large amount of personal privacy to keep using them.  But what if these devices were turned against us?  We can't simply assume that the security experts in the mobile phone industry will always defy the hackers in the criminal underworld, can we?  As inevitably happens in all situations with high financial stakes, there must be times when each side will get an edge over the other.  Thus, in anticipation of such a time when the smartphones in our pockets may be under the influence of some unknown intruder, we can always take the proper precaution by dumbing down these devices.

The new Smartphone Blocker Case will cover your mobile phone with a shield so powerful that it will no longer operate.  At all.  This means that whenever the phone is placed inside the Blocker Case, it will not be vulnerable to hacking, nor will it be accessible to anyone that may have already hacked it in the past.  While the phone is in this protective Blocker Case, it will also lose all service as well.  Basically, you are choosing to either to have the phone fully operational, or to to have it completely inoperable.  Do those two options sound a bit absolute?  Not for people who are currently pondering whether to carry a smartphone at all or just to leave it at home.  In that context, the Smartphone Blocker Case actually provides a convenient compromise, where you can still carry the phone with you at all times, but without even letting it know.  Always keep in mind that when you take a phone out of the Blocker Case, it will once again be as operational and vulnerable as any other phone, but at least you will always have the ability to choose when that happens.

New Product - Peep Hole Wireless Camera

The last few weeks have been quite busy at Spytech, as you will see with the newest high tech products being added to our online shop over the next little while.  First of all, I'm pleased to introduce a type of camera that we have constantly been asked about over several years.  This is a camera that looks like a "Peep Hole" in a door.  Ideally, the customers I have talked to are trying to see who is outside their door, or who is messing around in the hallway when they are asleep, or not at home.  Since most typical residential building hallways have no potential places to hide a camera, this Peep Hole Wireless Camera is surely the best way to protect the area just outside your front door.

During our testing this camera has been operating perfectly.  The only issue is that the diameter of this Peep Hole Camera seems to be a few millimeters thicker than the standard "apartment door peep hole" we tested it on.  I'm not sure how many different sizes there are in the peep hole industry, so make sure you have permission to drill the correct hole in your door if it currently has a slightly smaller sized hole.  If you are starting fresh with a brand new door, the diameter of the part of the Peep Hole Camera that fits inside the hole is 13.8mm, so be prepared to drill accordingly.  If you happen to have a larger hole in your door, the Peep Hole camera has a 25mm diameter end on it so it can still cover a hole up to that size.

Please check that these measurements will match your door.

Going over the features, we were impressed!  Not only does the Peep Hole Wireless Camera come with a high quality LCD video receiver to view the live image, but if you just insert a MicroSD card, the screen then becomes a motion activated DVR that can record all the activity from the Peep Hole.  The Peep Hole Camera itself has to be plugged in to a power outlet to operate, but the LCD video receiver can be unplugged and will operate on its built in rechargeable battery for about 5 hours or so.

New Product - Telephone Voice Recorder

At Spytech we constantly test the newest products and investigate the latest technologies.  Thanks to all our research, we have found a digital audio recorder that does it all!  For phone recording, the Telephone Voice Recorder comes with a standard land line phone connector and uses Voice Activation to record your phone calls automatically.  If the 20 hour battery life isn't enough, you can actually power the recorder from the USB cable.  This will provide endless power for recording, but we have found that you still need batteries for playback.  Please note that the Telephone Voice Recorder only works with standard land line telephones.  No VOIP or Rogers phones or digital phone systems.
